Since 1998, Hyundai has teamed with its U.S. dealerships like Rosen Hyundai of Algonquin to raise $87 million for childhood-cancer research and treatment through the Hyundai Hope On Wheels nonprofit organization. September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, making this time of year particularly crucial for the cause.
While the Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K created a local impact on Sept. 7 in conjunction with the Chicago Half Marathon, the auto sales at Rosen Hyundai and hundreds more dealerships will help the nonprofit donate $9 million this month for pediatric-cancer research at 36 children’s hospitals. In fact, the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital has been chosen to receive one of the $250,000 Hyundai Scholar Hope Grants for 2014.
If you’d like to make an additional donation to Hyundai Hope On Wheels, please visit www.hyundaihopeonwheels.org. Even if you can’t give money at this time, you can help raise awareness by participating in the Hope On Wheels “Every Handprint Tells A Story” campaign at www.HyundaiHopeOnWheels.org/September. The interactive website allows you to watch uplifting survival stories, hear about the cutting-edge work of Hyundai Scholar researchers, and create and share your own messages of encouragement for children fighting cancer.
