Last year, we featured the Mazda3 as one of our best cars for students because of its aggressive styling that comes at an affordable price. Well, our sentiments continue to be echoed by industry experts, as Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com has placed the Mazda3 at the top of its 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000 list for the second consecutive year.
KBB.com editors praised the 2015 Mazda3 for being fun to drive, easy on the eyes and technologically advanced on the inside. The compact car’s redesign for 2014 brought bold KODO styling and fuel-efficient SKYACTIV technologies, but the Mazda3 has never been a stranger to the Coolest Cars list: It has made the cut in all 12 model years that it’s been on the market.
By using lightweight-yet-strong materials in its engine, transmission, body and chassis, the 2015 Mazda3 manages to offer excellent fuel economy without diluting the highly responsive ride that has become the signature of the Mazda brand. For starters, you can go with the standard 155-horsepower 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine, which returns up to 41 mpg on the highway in sedan models. If you’re looking for even quicker acceleration, you can upgrade to the 184-horsepower 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine, which still nets up to 40 mpg on the highway in sedan models equipped with the available i-ELOOP system.
The Mazda3’s features are just as advanced inside its cabin, where you’ll receive a standard MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system in every 2015 model except for the base i SV sedan. Controlled through a 7-inch touchscreen that is positioned high atop the dashboard to keep eyes toward the road, MAZDA CONNECT lets drivers access apps like Aha internet radio, Pandora and Stitcher, as well as hear text messages and social media updates without dangerously fumbling for their smartphones.
As KBB.com put it, the Mazda3 is the “king of affordable cool cars,” so call the Rosen Mazda of Waukegan sales team at 847-497-8696 and schedule a time to try out the car’s awesome features for yourself!
It’s crazy to think that when the Hyundai Sonata was first produced, “Back to the Future” and “The Breakfast Club” ruled the box office, while Wham! and Madonna topped the Billboard charts. After seven generations of the popular midsize sedan, the Sonata is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and we’ve never been prouder to sell the vehicle at our Chicagoland Hyundai dealership.
More than 7.3 million models of the Hyundai Sonata have been sold globally since its 1985 introduction, and more than 2.3 million models have found homes in the United States since the car debuted in our country as a second-generation model in 1988. The Sonata has been dramatically transformed over the years, evolving from its early angular silhouette to today’s Fluidic Sculpture design language. Technologically, the car played an integral role in the auto industry’s digital revolution of the 1990s and 2000s, and in recent years, it has even welcomed hybrid models to its family.
With all-new hybrid and plug-in hybrid models coming later this year, the Hyundai Sonata is poised for another 30 years of success with its fuel-efficient and sustainable design. Estimated by Hyundai to return up to 44 mpg on the highway when it goes on sale later this spring, the 2016 Sonata Hybrid will save its owners loads of cash during their commute while still offering a total output of 193 horsepower. For drivers who want to leave an even smaller carbon footprint, the 2016 Sonata Plug-in Hybrid is slated for a manufacturer-estimated 93 MPGe and a class-leading 24-mile all-electric range when it goes on sale as Hyundai’s first-ever plug-in hybrid in late 2015.
Looking to celebrate the Sonata’s 30th anniversary by purchasing a model of your own? Check out our Hyundai Sonata inventory and then head to our Hyundai dealership in Algonquin, IL, for a test-drive!
Buying an affordable vehicle no longer means passing on the latest in-car technology, which is why Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com releases its annual list of the 10 Tech-Savviest Cars Starting Under $20,000. Boosted by the availability of its class-exclusive Around View Monitor, the Nissan Versa Note hatchback recently landed on the KBB.com list for the second straight year, with its Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for May 2015 starting at $13,776.
The optional Around View Monitor in the 2015 Nissan Versa Note uses four cameras to create a 360-degree image of the vehicle that is displayed on the touchscreen monitor, a function that KBB.com editors found particularly useful when backing out of parking spots. Regardless of the Versa Note model that you choose, you’ll receive a standard Bluetooth hands-free phone system, a 12-volt DC power outlet and an auxiliary audio input for playing your favorite tunes from a mobile device.
For even greater connectivity on the road, the 2015 Versa Note is available with the NissanConnect infotainment system, which integrates with mobile apps like Google local search, Facebook, Pandora and iHeartRadio that are controlled using the 5.8-inch touchscreen. Meanwhile, for greater peace of mind, the Versa Note comes standard with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System that notifies drivers of an underinflated tire with an icon on the dashboard. Versa Note buyers can also opt for an Easy-Fill Tire Alert that initiates a subtle beep of the horn when a tire is properly inflated.
The list of available technology features in the Versa Note goes on and on from there, so be sure to schedule a test-drive at our Milwaukee Nissan dealership to try them all out in-person. Let us find you a great deal that gives you more convenience and connectivity on the road for much less money!
