Rosen Motors Marks 25th ‘AnniVERSAry’ with Three Vehicle Giveaways

Since opening its doors in 1989, the Rosen Motors Group has thrived by doing business differently, and its 25th anniversary celebration is certainly reflecting its unique focus on the customer. The group of 10 auto sales and service locations in Chicagoland and Milwaukee is paying respect to its patrons by giving away three vehicles in 2014, with the first model, a Nissan Versa, already taken home by an audience member of ABC7 Chicago’s “Windy City LIVE” on May 19 during sweeps period.

The general public was invited to enter the first round of the Rosen Motors Silver AnniVERSAry Car Giveaway by completing a web form at www.rosenrosen.com or by liking the Windy City LIVE Facebook page. Out of the roughly 12,300 registrants, 75 were randomly chosen to attend an airing of “Windy City LIVE” for a chance to win the Nissan Versa. On hand to pick the winner’s name out of a raffle drum was Jeff Rosen, who announced that Joslyn Jones of Chicago was the lucky audience member.

First stunned, then ecstatic, Jones told the audience she would be retiring a 21-year-old car named Champagne that runs on prayers before she was swept away in the silver 2014 Versa outside of the studio. Though there could be only one winner that day, everyone in the audience left with a goody bag containing a $100 coupon book for oil changes and other service at Rosen dealerships.

“We couldn’t have grown our auto group from one store to 10 in less than a quarter century without the lasting support of our customers and the communities that we serve, and our car giveaways are allowing us to say ‘thank you’ in one of the biggest ways possible,” Rosen said. “The Versa giveaway with ABC7 Chicago was one of the station’s most successful promotions ever, and we’re looking forward to building on that feat by continuing to engage the public with our next two events.”

The second Silver Anniversary Car Giveaway will take place at Rosen Nissan Milwaukee in July through a similar promotion with NBC affiliate WTMJ. Once again, those interested will be able to register on the Rosen Motors website. To be among the first to learn when registration opens and when the giveaway date will be, participants can “like” the auto group on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RosenMotors. This fall, the final car will be given away through a repeat promotion with “Windy City LIVE” that will again be timed around sweeps period.

While it was Jeff Rosen’s uncle, Saul Rosen, who laid the groundwork for Rosen Motors by opening Rosen Nissan-Suzuki in Milwaukee in February of 1989, Jeff and his brother-in-law, Scott Levy, have used their training from Saul to play major roles in the group’s aggressive growth over the years.

“We’ve benefited greatly from the tight-knit collaboration that comes from being a family-run business, and in the same vein, we like to treat our customers like members of our extended family,” noted Levy, who serves as general manager at Rosen Hyundai. “Though we plan to continue to expand as much as possible over the next 25 years to meet demand in the market, we will always work to ensure that each customer feels like he or she is the only one in the showroom.”

New Nissan Smart Rearview Mirror Can Make People “Disappear”

For decades, the standard rearview mirror has effectively served its purpose in a simple way. But parents of large families and regular road trippers know that when a passenger is in the middle seat or the trunk of the car is filled to the top with luggage, the traditional mirror is rendered useless. With the newly announced Smart Rearview Mirror, Nissan is about to make those problems disappear – literally.

The mirror, set to debut globally in 2015, uses a video camera on the rear window of the car to show the driver an unobstructed view of the road behind. What’s more, Nissan said that the view provided is wider and clearer than that of a traditional mirror, making it better for low-light conditions or inclement weather. And when the driver reaches a situation where the video display becomes unnecessary, he or she can change the mirror back to a traditional reflective one with flick of a switch.

Following a new U.S. regulation that all new vehicles must have rearview video technology by 2018, automakers across the globe are wondering how the law will affect their products. Nissan, on the other hand, is several steps ahead of the competition.

The Japanese automaker has already been recognized for its commitment to driver safety. The World Traffic Safety Symposium awarded the Smart Rearview Mirror with the 2014 Traffic Safety Achievement Award, which is given to auto manufacturers that find innovative ways to make driving safe.

As soon as the mirror becomes available on new Nissan vehicles, we’ll have it ready for you at our Nissan dealership in Gurnee, IL. Come visit us today!

2015 Mazda CX-5 Secures 5-Star Safety Rating from NHTSA

2015 Mazda CX-5 Earns NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating

As the first vehicle to fully incorporate Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology, the Mazda CX-5 hit the market in 2012 with lightweight materials in its body and chassis for better fuel efficiency and responsiveness. Now in its third model year, the compact crossover SUV continues to prove that it is heavy on safety despite its nimble ride, with the 2015 Mazda CX-5 recently earning a 5-Star Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the government agency’s New Car Assessment Program.

To land its overall 5-Star Safety Rating, the 2015 CX-5 received five stars in both frontal and side crash tests while netting four stars in the rollover test. Though the NHTSA is still in the early rounds of testing for 2015 models, the CX-5 outperformed the 2015 Subaru Forester in the frontal crash test, and it topped the overall four-star ratings of the Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4 from 2014-model-year testing. Mazda’s compact crossover SUV boasts a strong-yet-lightweight SKYACTIV-Body made of 61 percent high-tensile steel, while coming standard with six air bags that feature advanced dual-front, front-seat-mounted and full-length side-curtain technology.

“The beauty of the SKYACTIV suite is that it makes a vehicle’s responsiveness, fuel efficiency and safety all complementary to each other instead of having them act as opposing forces, and the Mazda CX-5 continues to be a great showcase of that synergy,” said Tom McGovern, general manager of Rosen Mazda Waukegan, a Chicagoland Mazda dealer. “Buyers of the CX-5 know they are getting an engaging ride without paying extra for it at the gas pump, and the whole time they also have the peace of mind that their passengers are being protected.”

In addition to its standard crash-protection features, the 2015 Mazda CX-5 is available with a number of active-safety technologies that can prevent accidents from occurring in the first place, including Blind Spot Monitoring, an Adaptive Front-lighting System, Smart City Brake Support and a rearview camera. When it comes to gas mileage, the base CX-5 is the most fuel-efficient SUV on the interstate, returning up to 35 mpg on the highway with its SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission.
